Welcome! We are excited to offer engaging, conversation based virtual lessons to your 7th-grade students. In this program LACMA Educators will join your classroom to facilitate two consecutive days of 1hr workshops over Zoom. Day 1 focuses on object-based learning; examining primary source works of art in LACMA’s collection. Day 2 is a curriculum-aligned, hands-on art making workshop utilizing at-home materials and zoom applications.
Classes are available at either 10 am and 1 pm PST. If you sign-up for a Tuesday class, our educators will visit your students on both Tuesday and Wednesday at the selected time (10 am or 1pm). Alternatively, if you sign-up for a Thursday class, our educators will visit your students on both Thursday and Friday. If these times/dates do not work for you, we highly encourage you to reserve a date and our team will work with you on scheduling an appropriate time. Sign-ups are required at least a week prior to the virtual class and a LACMA staff member will reach out to you for orientation and go over class logistics. Currently, these Virtual classes are limited to Title 1 schools. We also offer ELL and SDC classes at your request.
These workshops include a FREE supplemental Teachable course for all classrooms focusing on LACMA’s Art of the Americas collection. These courses explore several themes and social science/history standards, including: People, Places and their Environment, Traditions, Rituals and Worldview, and Communication and Exchange.Suited for: Grades 7, SpEd
