Art Speaks: Grades 6-12
This tour explores how artists communicate ideas through their art. Through careful observation, conversation, and critical thinking, students learn to read visual language, examining the decisions and visual strategies involved in creating works of art. Each tour will focus on five works of art selected from rotating special exhibitions that cover a broad range of cultures and historical periods. A 10-minute discussion at each object includes grade-appropriate questions and activities that investigate how artists make choices, share ideas, and interpret the world around them.
