People and Places in Art
This introductory tour explores how artists use elements of art such as line, color, shape, light, and shadow in picturing people and places. Students sharpen their observation, critical thinking, and oral presentation skills as they discover what art can tell us about the commonalities and differences of people and places across cultures and time periods. This tour addresses state content standards for history/social science for grades 1 through 3, and language arts standards (listening and speaking) and visual arts standards for grades 1 through 5.
